Mother's Union Representatives drawn from all Parishes in the entire Diocese congregated at Mother's Mercy Home to celebrate 23 years since the inception of the Children's Home.
MU members who have walked the 23 years journey with the Home attested how God has worked through the Union to transform a humble abode to a one-of-a-kind installation where 102 children call home; 60 in Primary School while 42 are in Secondary School, with all their, physical, emotional, spiritual and financial needs fully catered by DMKS Mother's Union Members.
Within just a decade, MMH has produced 95 fully-fledged adults who were absorbed in their early years.
Furthermore, MMH's Outreach Program is an arrangement that supports the education and spiritual facets of 63 needy children who live with their parents.
30 individuals have benefited from the program since its enrolment in recent years.
The Sixth Mt. Kenya South Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles Muturi Confirmed 11 children from the Home.
The Guest Speaker Ev. Joseph Wachira elaborated on four points in his homily dubbed 'excellence in the grace of giving':
1. Giving is God’s idea (He gave His only Son)
2. God speaks to His own
3. Give happily just as God gives us without complaining
4. God knows your worth (All have a part to play)
Immediate former MU Archdeaconry leaders were appreciated for their gallant service, which spawned through the Covid-19 Pandemic epoch.
The Service was led by the Mother's Union Chaplain Ven. Canon John Mutonga with Ven. Canon Juliet Bundi, Area Dean Rev'd Titus Mburu and a good representation of Clergy and their spouses in attendance.
They were hosted by Karura Archdeacon Ven. Rufus Githaiga, Ndenderu Area Dean Rev'd Capt. Geoffrey Kinyanjui and Kianjogu Vicar Rev'd Jane Ndung'u.
In a fundraiser to boost the Home Kshs 8.1M was raised by the MU Members.
The event was organised by the MU leadership led by their President Mrs. Lucy Muchene, Coordinator Mrs. Eunice Mwaura, Chairlady Mrs. Maryanne Njoroge, MMH Manager Charity Mugechi and Chairlady Madam Winnie Njenga.
The leadership of DIMKES DT SACCO graced the ceremony led by their Chairlady Mrs. Caroline Gikonyo and the CEO Mr. Benson Maina.
