'FIGHT POVERTY VEHEMENTLY,' BISHOP CHARLES
"Draw close to your children from infancy right through to adulthood; parent them rather than pleasing them, for their character development depends on it." The Sixth Mt. Kenya South Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles Muturi reasoned with Christians of ACK St. John's Kangawa in Ngong Archdeaconry during today's Holy Communion and Annointing Service.
More than a dozen children were baptised by the resident Archdeacon Ven. Canon Catherine Kang’ethe.
The Bishop persuaded Congregants to fight the six aspects that are synonymous with poverty:
- Watching TV all day
- Life without a vision for tomorrow
-Settling in the comfort zone
- Blaming others for past mistakes
- Sleeping over 8hrs a night
- Being a Mr. Know It All
"Even as we look forward to going to Heaven, let us strive to live decently in this world with full knowledge that the miracle we await is not with others but within our very selves." He added.
"Our confidence that our tomorrow is greater than today is founded on the fact that God has been absolutely faithful in our past and present," Mama Wanjiku engaged Congregants.
They were welcomed by ACK St. John's Vicar Rev'd Bedan Gacheru.
