PRESIDENT RUTO LAYS THE FOUNDATION STONE OF THE DIOCESAN GRAND CATHEDRAL

Kiambu Town came into a stand still as security was beefed up ahead of the president's arrival at ACK St. James Cathedral.

H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto was the Chief Guest during today's Laying of the Foundation Stone of the Grand Diocesan Cathedral in a service led by The Sixth Mt. Kenya South, Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles Muturi.

The Ceremony was graced by Diocesan Priests and Evangelists as well as the Kiambu leadership led by the governor H.E. Dr. Kimani Wamatangi, Assistant Governor H.E. Rosemary Kirika, leader of Majority in Parliament Hon. Kimani Ichung'wa, Woman Representative Hon. Anne Muratha as well as National and County Legislators and Christians.

Bishop Charles lauded Christians for their selfless efforts of putting up the Cathedral and urged them to build on their spirituality as well. The President gave a contribution of Kshs 5 Million and pledged another Kshs 10 Million during upcoming gathering of funds on 5th November 2023. He also thanked the Church for spearheading national reconciliation and cohesion.
