The joyous occasion of opening the house of Ven. Canon Dr. Elias Muikia Mburu was marked by a heartfelt service presided over by the 6th Mt. Kenya South, Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles M. Muturi, with the support of Rt. Rev'd Major (Rtd) Samson Gachathi. The day was a celebration of not just a new home, but of faith, family, and God’s abundant blessings. The service began with anticipation and reverence as family, friends, and well-wishers gathered to witness this special moment. When it came time for the homily, Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles M. Muturi stood before the congregation, his presence commanding both respect and admiration. He congratulated Canon Elias for the tremendous work he had accomplished, together with his wife both in building a home and serving the community. With gentle encouragement, he reminded the congregation of the vital role women play in managing households. “Women are the managers of our homes,” he said, honoring their nurturing and organizing presence. He then turned his words specifically toward Canon Elias, urging him to continue building, even suggesting the possibility of expanding into rental properties to generate more income—a reminder that God blesses the work of our hands when we trust in His plan. In the heart of his message, Bishop Muturi drew from the powerful words of Isaiah 65:22, a promise from God that resonated deeply with the occasion: "No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the work of their hands." He spoke these words as a blessing over Canon Elias and his family, assuring them that they would dwell in their new home for many years to come. “You shall live for so many years in this house,” he said, “and whatever you plant, you will soar.” It was a declaration of prosperity, longevity, and God’s provision over the life of Canon Elias and his household. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of peace and gratitude as the service moved into the celebration of Holy Communion. Together, Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles M Muturi, Rt. Rev'd Major (Rtd) Samson Gachathi, and Ven. Canon Wanyoike led the congregation in this sacred act, sealing the day with prayer and spiritual nourishment. In attendance was the Kiambu Women rep. Hon. Anne Wamuratha
