The training kicked off with a Holy Communion Service, led by the Assistant Provost, Rev'd Ann Mwaura, alongside Rev'd Simon Mungai. The worship atmosphere was palpable as participants gathered, eager to receive spiritual nourishment. The sermon was delivered by Rev'd Simon Mungai, who centered his message on the theme of being called to worship and spiritual maturity. In a captivating manner, he reminded the congregation that while many are chosen, only a few are truly called. He urged everyone to listen when Christ calls and not harden their hearts as their forefathers did in Meribah. Worship, he emphasized, is at the heart of our relationship with God. "God cannot worship Himself," Rev'd Mungai stated, "That is why He created us — not just to serve, but to worship Him wholeheartedly." The service continued with the celebration of Holy Communion, officiated by Rev'd. Mungai, alongside the assistant Provost _Rev'd Ann Mwaura_a moment of deep reflection for everyone present Later on the 6th Mt Kenya South the RT Rev'd Canon Charles M Muturi explained the importance of spiritual maturity. "Maturity," he explained, "is recognizing that you are called to serve in unique ways. It’s about accepting others, their differences, and their journey of faith." He reminded the leaders that maturity also means realizing that our ideas are not always the best and that it's essential to take responsibility for one's actions. _"Maturity is love. It’s understanding that you cannot please everyone, but with God's grace, you can serve with a sincere Following the sermon, various speakers took to the stage to offer their insights. The Director of Education and Training (DoET) Rev'd Jeremiah Muchoki gave a powerful address, outlining the pillars of leadership. He encouraged the congregation to trust in God, know themselves, and be confident in their calling. "You must invest in yourself, surround yourself with the right people, and take care of your health and mindset," he stressed, adding that good leadership requires empathy, action, and emotional intelligence. Assistant Provost Rev'd. Ann Mwaura also shared practical advice on building a winning team. She called on everyone to connect deeply with one another, commit to their duties, and work together toward common goals. "Each of us must contribute equally, doing what we know best and supporting others in their strengths. Encouragement is key, and as leaders, we must lift each other up to stay on track," she urged. The day’s lessons didn’t end there. Bishop Charles Muturi took the podium and spoke about the power of worship. He encouraged the Praise and Worship team to choose songs that align with the spirit of every occasion, reminding them that music has the ability to uplift and guide the soul in worship. In an interesting twist, Bishop Muturi compared the role of Christians to that of customers in a business. "We all have a role in ensuring others feel valued, just as a customer would expect in a business transaction," he said. He stressed that the way we treat others should reflect how we wish to be treated, with dignity, respect, and care. The day concluded with an insightful teaching on temperaments by the DoET .He guided the group through the characteristics of different personality types: sanguine, choleric, phlegmatic, and melancholic. By understanding these temperaments, participants could better serve their respective groups — be it as ushers, praise and worship members, or cell group leaders. With spirits uplifted and a deeper understanding of their roles, the participants left the service empowered, ready to continue their journey as mature and dedicated servants in their respective ministries.
