111 CONFIRMED IN KONGOTHIRIA DEANERY

Hundreds of Christians braved the chilly morning to grace the Deanery confirmation service at ACK St. Andrew's Kongothiria.

The Sixth Mt. Kenya South Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles Muturi gave 111 confirmation candidates permission to partake Holy Communion.

"Sometimes we ask ourselves a myriad of questions:

1. Why do we serve Christ?

2. How do we deal with suffering?

3. Where is God when it is happening?

4. Why does God allow us to suffer while we serve Him diligently?"

The Bishop posed speaking in line with the Sub-theme of July, 'Why does God allow suffering' in his homily derived from Job 42.

"May our prayer be that the devil should not be granted power to persecute our bodies, property, and family.* That our spouses will not advise us to curse our God when things get tough.

Still, even though it happens, may the devil never lack a testimony of our unbridled faithfulness and righteousness to God.

We do not lose our strength even if our bodies and property are decimated, the inner man within us grows continuously and consistently stronger and indomitable. Though a tree is cut down, it will spring forth to life again!"_ He added.

The Service was convened by Kongothiria Area Dean and resident Vicar Rev'd Allan Kimondo, Kambaa Area Dean Rev'd Edwin Kinyanjui, Rev'd Geoffrey Kamiri (Githirioni), Rev'd Michael Mwaniki (Ngarariga), Rev'd Stephen Ng'ethe (Loromo), Rev'd Bernard Kairu (Uplands), Rev'd Ephantus Njagi (Matathia), Evangelists and Lay Readers.

"We have no other duty but to rejoice in The Lord and please Him, for all we have belong to Him." Mum, who was flanked by Clergy Spouses urged Congregants.

The awesomely organised confirmation service was characterised by hearty praises and uplifting worship.
