Christians of ACK Good Shepherd Dagoretti Market braved morning showers jubilantly to welcome Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles Muturi to herald their exodus from their former hired mabati church by Consecrating and Dedicating their brand new permanent sanctuary.
A journey emanating from The Sixth Mt. Kenya South's Enthronement Charge to elevate 7 semi-permanent churches to permanent status has now birthed almost two dozen mission churches.
ACK Good Shepherd Dagoretti Market now becomes the 34 church to be consecrated since the Enthronement of Bishop Charles.
He lauded Christians led by their Incharge Capt. Paul Njagi for a job well done.
24 children were also baptised in the colourful Service graced by Riruta Archdeacon Ven. Esther Kagicha, Dagoretti Area Dean Rev'd Samuel Nginyo, his Waithaka, Riruta North and Kìùrù Deaneries counterparts Rev'd Capt. Stanley Kinyanjui, Rev'd Jedidah Maina and Rev'd Jason Minae respectively, as well as Deanery and visiting Clergy, Evangelists, Lay Readers and Clergy Spouses.
Rev'd Capt. Elijah Mbuthia, the Head of Protocols, and Rev'd Phillip Kahiga coordinated the ceremony.
The Bishop also prayed with 21 Kanisa Madukani Reformers drawn from the area.
"Even as we dedicate this altar for God, may we also purify and dedicate our hearts that they may be fit dwellings for the Holy Spirit. We can not draw others to God or to this Sanctuary unless He dwells, works, and moves in us." Area Dean Minae engaged Congregants who filled the entire Church as well as its compound in his homily.
