"Though we live in a sinful world, our expectation as Christians is to retain our purity; even as a fish dwells in the salty ocean waters without the salt ever getting into its flesh."
The Sixth Mt. Kenya South Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles Muturi urged Christians of ACK St. Luke's Kabazi, in Kiambu, in a morning Holy Communion Service.
The Service was led by Thindigua Area Dean Rev'd Jannefer Mbuthia, Rev'd Prof Kefah Njenga, Rev'd Bernard Kahara, Rev'd Chris Mwangi and Lay Reader Samuel Gaku.
They were hosted by Kabazi Sub-Parish Incharge Capt. Serah Mbogo. Deanery Evangelists were present.
Bishop Charles, flanked by the Sub-Parish KAYO and SPCC Members later transversed the entire Kabazi and Mbo-I-Kamiti region grappling with sheer poverty, dilapidated living conditions, teenage pregnancies, lack of school fees synonymous with a section of squatters living in the area.
Ironically, 75% of the 13 visits made today were done because the children and not the parent/s were regular church attendees, highlighting the critical role of children in modern evangelism.
Some of the children have to trek for kilometres to make it to Sunday School.
The Bishop pledged to facilitate enrolment fees for two needy form one students.
The Bishop Mashinani/Bishop kwa Ground/Bishop na Mahustler Outreach continues every Thursday. If you wish to tap to the blessings accrued with helping the needy, kindly drop foodstuffs and bedding donations at the Bishop’s Office at Bishop Kariuki Center, Wangige.
