"There is a big difference between pastoral care and missions and outreach.
During this entire month of missions and evangelism we are being called to turn our attention to unconventional places like bus stops, bodaboda sheds, bars, residential areas, beauty parlours, barber shops, gymnasiums, streets, town centers, hospitals, prisons, schools, tertiary institutions to win souls for Christ.
Similarly, our modern disposition expects us to embrace social media platforms like X, Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp to propel the goodnews to all, especially our youth, in a language they may understand."
The Sixth Mt. Kenya South Rt. Rev'd Canon Charles Muturi interacted with hundreds of Christians drawn from Kihara Deanery at ACK Sts Phillip and Mary Magdalene Kihara.
Therein, in a beautifully choreographed ceremony, he granted a whooping 330 Confirmation Candidates permission to partake upon The Lord's Table.
The Service was led by Kihara Area Dean Rev'd John Kirata assisted by Rev'd Capt. Elijah Mbuthia (St. Stephen's Kihara), Rev'd Stephen Mathenge (All Saints Gachie), Rev'd Joseph Waweru (Ribarori) and Deanery Lay Readers.
A good number of visiting Clergy were in attendance led by Nairobi Diocese Vicar General and Provost Very Rev'd Canon Paul Kariuki, Kangemi Area Dean Rev'd Capt. Kelvin Nyoike, Rev'd Geoffrey Kamiri, and Rev'd Phillip Kahiga
Deanery Evangelists were lauded for a job well done. A number of Clergy Spouses graced the ceremony.
"God has commanded us to make disciples for Him from all corners of the world both in season and out of season.
Christ is simple; hence, we must present Him to all in the simplest form.* Yet, for us to preach Christ, we must first believe in Him." Bishop Charles urged in his homily.
