Hundreds of Christians drawn from Kangemi Deanery gathered at ACK St. Philips Thiboro for this year's Deanery Confirmations.
The Assistant Bishop of Bondo Diocese,
Rt. Rev'd Dr. Emily Onyango granted 182 Candidates permission to partake the Holy Eucharist.
The service was convened by Kangemi Area Dean Rev'd Capt. Kelvin Nyoike, Rev'd Kennedy Muriithi (Thiboro), Rev'd Sarah Mburu (Waruku), Rev'd Dr. Kirienye Maina (Mountain View), Rev'd John Gitau, Rev'd Jackson Kilelu, Capt. John Munyinyi (Nachu and Ndigu-ini), Deanery Evangelists and Lay Readers.
"1. Why do we cling so much to our past to the point of blinding us?
2. Have we elevated our belongings as gods, forgetting that all we have are but blessings from God?"
Bishop Emily reasoned with Congregants, in her homily dubbed 'Letting Go' derived from Isaiah 40:15-19.
"Stop wallowing in the past. The Israelites were frustrated because they could not envision their designated future.
God is willing to dive with you into a new future, but He can't do so if you insist on sticking to your past." She added.
The beautifully choreographed confirmation service was characterized by joyful praises and uplifting worship.
