ASCENSION DAY SERVICE HELD AT ACK KIAHURIA PARISH

The Ascension Day Service at ACK Kiahuria Parish was presided over by the 6th Mt. Kenya South, the Rt. Rev’d Canon Charles M. Muturi.
The day began with the official opening and dedication of the DMKS TAI Studio, a facility established to support Music Production, Podcasting, Live Streaming, and Videography for the glory of God and the advancement of ministry through media.
During the dedication, the Bishop highly commended the Rev’d Michael Ng’ang’a, Ev. Joe Mwema, and the entire Board of Communication for their remarkable commitment and incredible work in establishing such an outstanding studio. He noted that the studio will play a great role in spreading the Gospel and enhancing communication within the Diocese and beyond.
This was followed by the dedication and blessing of the church carpet.
Among those present to honour the occasion and witness the grand opening of the studio were the Vicar General, the Very Rev’d Canon Geoffrey Mungai; the Administrative Secretary, the Ven. Counsel Fredrick Gacheru; Rev’d Lydia Charles; Rev’d George Karuku; Rev’d Philip Kahiga, Rev’d Lincoln Kang’ethe; the Diocesan Finance Manager, Mr. George King’otho and the Diocesan Communication Champions
The sermon was shared by the Rev’d Jeremiah Muchoki, who reflected on the diocesan theme for the month, “Evil Backfires.”
In his sermon, Rev’d Muchoki reminded the congregation that we serve a God who never forgets His people and their good deeds. Drawing from the story of Mordecai, he narrated how Mordecai faithfully remained at the king’s gate despite facing hatred, rejection, and opposition for no apparent reason. Yet, at the appointed time, God remembered him and lifted him from a place of humility to a place of honour.
He encouraged the congregation never to despise their current position in life, emphasizing that God is able to locate His people wherever they are, just as He located Mordecai at the gate. He further urged believers to remain true to themselves and continue doing good despite challenges and opposition from others.
From the story of Mordecai, several important lessons were highlighted:
People may hate or oppose you because of your background or even for no reason at all.
In the fullness of God’s time, He makes everything beautiful.
A good deed is never forgotten before God.
When the right time comes, God will honour and uplift those who faithfully trust in Him.
Believers were encouraged to continue doing good because we serve a God who remembers and rewards faithfulness.
The service also included the blessing and dedication of new church seats that will be installed at the upper balcony of the church.
