SIGONA PARISH The Parish belongs to the Diocese of Mt. Kenya South having been curved from the larger Kanyariri parish in 1984. The parish serves as the beacon of hope and hence cannot be underestimated. It is a Church where Christians gather for spiritual nourishment, therefore grounded on faith and salvation. The Christians believe in the existence of God as the creator of the universe and provider of spiritual nourishment. Sigona Parish is comprised of only one congregation which is the A.C.K St. Luke’s Church which has a very high potential for growth. Two parishes ACK Kamuguga and St.Thaddeus Nderi have been borne out of this Church over the last three years. The Parish has always valued its congregation which is central in the Lord’s strategy. It is within the congregation that the Holy Spirit comes upon God’s people when the Gospel is read and expounded. This is where people need care and empowering, noting that they are the most important beacon in the entire parish ministry where battles of faith are fought and won as a growth centre of the community. The church is also guided by the vision and mission. VISION A church devoted to the apostles teaching, fellowship and prayers. Bound together in a living relationship with God, experiencing spiritual revival and renewal awaiting Christ’s second coming. MISSION To communicate God’s word through evangelism, preaching, Bible study, healing and to bring people to Jesus Christ’s membership, disciple them to maturity in Christ through socio-economic transformation for abundant living. Membership We have a membership of about 250 members i.e 200 in our English service and 50 from the Kikuyu service.
