Ack Emmanuel church KIBICIKU came into existence after converts from the great crusades that were been conducted at Kabete Mother Church, started organising mission weekends and afternoon services in kibichiku. The services were conducted in mud-walled classrooms, the to the new timber classrooms and thereafter to the new stone walled church in 1967 which has since been extended. The church foundation was laid by Bishop Obadiah Kariuki on April who later officially opened it in June 1967. The 1st Sunday of June was declared a Bishop’s anniversary day for the church. From then it has led to birth of St Stephen’s Gathiga Nov 75,St Andrews Kihingo may 1990, St Johns may 1992 and St James kiiniki 2001. Following generosity of Christians and Departments, we have seen growth of different projects like church hall, ukumbusho, fencing round the church, cabro works flooring, vicarage, and the Ongoing ukumbusho 2. During this time we’ve had six vice chairpersons and the current one is Amos Kanja, six secretaries current one is Moses ngugi. We’ve also had 12 treasurers and the serving one is Elizabeth Thotho. Throughout the over 50 years we’ve had 26 clergy men and women and now we are the under the leadership of Areadean Beatrice Wanjanja Mungai. We have different departments namely KAMA, Mothers Union, Church Choir, Children’s department and KAYO. Our parish is made up of 5 cell groups namely Bethlehem, Bethany, Jerusalem, Galilee and Vicarage arranged according to the geographical location. We are the main sponsors to the two schools neighboring the church namely Kibichiku primary and Kibiciku secondary. We offer pastoral visits to the pupils and students and by extension teachers. They also get to enjoy church facilities such as water, usevof church hall and church compound and assisting them with facilities such ad writing materials, tables and chairs. We have two main services that is English service which runs from 8.30 to 10.30 am and the Kikuyu service which runs from 10.30 to 12.30. We also have an active teens chapel and Sunday school which runs from. 8.30 to 10.30 am. We as Emmanuel Kibichiku we are a biblically functioning community that inspire people to live like Jesus.
