A.C.K. St John's KARI Church was established in the year 1974 at the then East Africa Agriculture and Forestry Research Organisation(EAAFRO) centre Muguga .This was after a group of five families decided to start a church which was later registered as the Church of Province of Kenya (C.P.K.) Muguga. On 25th April 1992, C.P.K. Muguga Church was consecrated by the then Bishop of Diocese of Mt Kenya South, Rt. Rev. Goerge Muiri Njuguna and named C.P.K. St. John's Muguga with the Motto "Kneeling to conquer". The Church was granted a full parish status in the year 2000 with Rev. Juliet Nyaga being the first Vicar of KARI parish. Before then it had been administered under different parishes as follows: 1.Kanyariri parish-1974-1992 2.Sigona-1993 3.Kikuyu-1994-1995 4.Undiri-1996-1998. 5.Full parish -2000 A new and modern Sanctuary was built. It was consecrated by the Rt. Rev. Timothy Ranji Mbuthia, the then Diocesan Bishop on 2nd October 2016, during the tenure of Rev. Josphat Ngahu as the Vicar. The Parish is currently under Rev. Kenneth Ng'eno who is the Vicar.
